If sending parcels is a major part of your daily business, then DPD (Dynamic Parcel Distribution) has everything you need with a full-service package for frequent shippers. This ultra-modern online platform offers tailored services and useful resources for every step in the parcel shipping process – plus lots of extra features for frequent shippers. Simple, efficient, flexible: DPD

Are you an infrequent shipper? Then MyDPD Business is the right choice for you.

Part of DPDgroup, the second-largest international parcel delivery network in Europe, DPD Germany offers a wide range of nationwide and international (EU and worldwide) shipping services. From standard and express delivery to a variety of service options. DPD offers maximum transparency and flexibility for your shipments and fully carbon-neutral transport – with no added costs for customers.

With DPD, you can send parcels in a range of weight categories up to 31.5 kg. The maximum length of the longest side is 175 cm. The maximum  combined length and girth ((height + width) x 2 + length) is 300 cm. If a shipment exceeds these limits, DPD will add the relevant surcharge. The delivery time within Germany is 1-2 working days, depending on shipping method. Using shipcloud’s tracking function, both you and your customers can follow the progress of your standard and express shipments.

Charges for DPD shipping labels are based on the following maximum weight categories: 2 kg, 3 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg, and 31.5 kg. DPD reserves the right to make additional charges, e.g., for address correction, oversize shipments, island delivery and fuel. shipcloud reserves the right to pass on this charge to you.

Using DPD in shipcloud if you don’t have your own account

DPD is available to use under shipcloud’s terms and conditions for business customers as soon as you register with shipcloud. The following DPD services are already integrated into shipcloud for standard and express deliveries: PARCELLetter1, authorization to deposit2 and collection. Please note that there may be a charge for collection based on the number of items in each collection order. Alternatively, you can deliver your shipments to your preferred DPD depot. Every DPD shipment sent through shipcloud is insured nationally and internationally up to €500. If your shipment exceeds 31.5 kg, it is not possible to send it through shipcloud.

shipcloud supports international shipping from Germany to all countries in the EU. Please note that at present it is only possible to create return labels via the shipcloud API.

Using your own DPD account in shipcloud

If you already have your own DPD account, you can easily integrate it with shipcloud and continue to send shipments under your existing terms and conditions. These terms and conditions will apply not only to the collection of shipments from your warehouse or store, but also for services such as international shipping (including outside the EU) and insurance.

Setting up your DPD account in shipcloud

If you would like to use your existing DPD account in shipcloud, please contact support@shipcloud.io. Once activated, DPD will appear in your shipcloud WebUI under "Configurations" -> "Carriers" -> "DPD". All you have to do then is enter the following details:

  • Delis ID
  • Password
  • Customer UID
  • Depot

You can obtain this information from your DPD depot. You will also have to ask your DPD depot to activate your Delis ID. The tokens will be generated automatically, i.e., they do not have to be entered manually.

Creating return labels

At present it is only possible to create return labels for DPD through the shipcloud API and using your own DPD account.

Using DPD Predict

Please note that it is only possible to access the DPD Predict service via the shipcloud API. For more details of what needs to be passed through the API, see our developer documentation. Please ask your plug-in developer or platform if they already integrated DPD Predict.

If you are using your own contract, you will also need to have an e-mail template for Predict set up by DPD if that has not already been done.

DPD's PARCELLetter is the shipping solution for everything which is too small for a parcel but larger and heavier than a classical letter. DPD's PARCELLetter service offers you low-cost shipping of catalogues, printed matter, bulk letters or samples. Your DPD depot will be happy to provide you with more information.

At present it is only possible to create the DPD-PARCELLetter through the shipcloud API and using your own DPD account. For more details of what needs to be passed through the API, see our developer documentation.

Shipping to non-EU countries

When shipping to non-EU countries, please remember to complete the relevant customs documents, e.g., pro forma or commercial invoice. As we do not currently support customs/tax formalities and the associated documentation, you will have to clear your shipments directly. This is also the case if you send shipments exclusively through shipcloud, i.e., if you do not have your own MyDPD Pro account. Please follow the guidelines provided by DPD and contact the carrier directly if you have any queries.

Are you an infrequent shipper? Then DPD’s small-scale service, MyDPD Business, is the right choice for you.

DPD Express

If you have your own account with DPD, you can still use DPD Express and integrate your account in shipcloud.

Therefore your urgent shipments will reach their destination in a fast and safely manner.

You can start using DPD with a few simple steps. Just register, add your default from address and you're done!

1 DPD PARCELLetter is a fast and reliable solution for everything that is too small for a parcel but larger and heavier than a regular letter.

2 The sender authorizes DPD to deposit shipments, without confirmation of receipt by the recipient, at a specific location as stated on the packing slip (e.g., in a garage or beside an external staircase).
