DPD Shipping with shipcloud

With shipcloud, you can quickly and easily connect DPD to your store, ERP or inventory management system. To do this, use our API or one of the plug-ins already available.

This enables you to create shipping labels automatically from your existing system. There is no need to laboriously type in names and addresses or import address data via CSV files. With integrated shipment tracking, you and your customers also know exactly where the shipment is at all times.

An overview of DPD integration into shipcloud

Right after the registration you can use DPD for shipments under the terms and conditions available to shipcloud as a business customer.

If you would like to integrate your existing DPD account into shipcloud we will be happy to activate a configuration for your account. Please send an e-mail to support@shipcloud.ioand we will activate the configuration for you. The possibility of integrating your own DPD account is available from professional to enterprise subscription. You can read all about the required information here.

shipcloud provides assistance from Germany for EU-wide shipping of your DPD parcels. With your own DPD account, you can also ship from Austria, Switzerland as well as Netherlands and Belgium. Please contact sales@shipcloud.io.

Send parcels at shipcloud rates

We have put together some important information for you here if you are shipping your DPD parcels at our rates. Please note that our full range of services is currently only available for shipping from Germany.

Limit of liability

If you are using DPD at shipcloud rates the limit of liability for national and international parcels if lost or damaged is up to EUR 520.

Please note that if you don’t follow the DPD terms of carriage, your liability claim may not apply. You can find more information about this directly at DPD.

Returns

By using shipcloud rates You can easily create DPD return labels and put them into your parcels or use our return portal where your customers can easily create a return label by themselves. These labels are billed on a usage basis

Return labels from the return portal are only for national return labels. Return label as an insert are for national and eu-wide standard shipments.3

Max. Girth size: 300 cm (girth size = (height + width) x 2 + length)

Special size for small parcels

Max. weight: 3 kg
Max. length: 50 cm
Max. Girth size: 111 cm (girth size = (height + width) x 2 + length)

Return and Parcel shop delivery

Max. weight: 20 kg
Max. length: 100 cm
Max. Girth size: 250 cm (girth size = (height + width) x 2 + length)

Please note that it is not possible to send bulky shipments with DPD.

Surcharges

DPD reserves the right to impose surcharges, e.g., for address correction, manual sorting as well as deliveries to islands and outlying areas. A surcharge may also be applied if the actual parcel dimensions or weight do not correspond with those specified.

shipcloud reserves the right to pass on these charges to you.

Information concerning parcel drop-off and collection

DPD shipments within Germany sent at shipcloud rates can only be picked up at your storage area or store. Drop-offs at parcel shops aren't possible. You can also drop off your shipments at a DPD depot near you. Please read more about pickups via shipcloud here.

Shipments using your existing DPD account

If you would like to integrate your existing DPD account into shipcloud we will be happy to activate a configuration for your account. Please send an e-mail to support@shipcloud.io and we will activate the configuration for you. The possibility of integrating your own DPD account is available from professional to enterprise subscription.

When your account has been activated, you can continue sending parcels at your rates. In this case, your individual terms and conditions apply with regard to:

  • transport insurance
  • (regular) collection/deposit of shipments at service points
The following information is required to configure your DPD account:
  • Delis ID
  • Password

You can obtain this information from your DPD depot. In order to get the Delis ID your DPD depot has to activate the DPD webservice. Please ask your DPD Account Manager explicitly for this service.

Express Shipping

Create express-shipments with your own DPD account. For delivery within the next working day please choose "1 Day". For delivery within the next working day til 12:00 choose "1 Day Early".2

Please note that the stated terms are in transit time. The scheduled timings are without guarantee and can vary from different destinations.

Returns with your own DPD account

You can create return labels with your own DPD account.

You can put them into your parcels or use our return portal where your customers can easily create a return label by themselves. In this case your individual terms and conditions regarding costs and billing still apply.

Return labels as an insert are for international returns to Germany.

Return labels via the return portal are only for national returns within Germany.

Additional services for DPD

We have integrated the following additional services for DPD into shipcloud:

DPD Predict: Currently this service is only possible directly via API request. The service is only available for standard shipments and not available for express shipments. When using your own account you’ll also have to configure an e-mail template for Predict with DPD directly if not already happened.

DPD PARCELLetter: Currently this service is only possible when using your own DPD account & via API request. You can find out more about the required information for DPD PARCELLetter in our developer documentation.

DPD Saturday Delivery: This service is available for shipping options "1 Day" or "1 Day Early" and only with your own DPD account. You will find more about the specific request in our developer documentation.

DPD Drop authorization: Currently this service is only possible directly via API request.

Please ask your platform or specific plug-in developer directly if they already integrated these additional services.

Shipping to non-EU countries

When shipping to non-EU countries, please remember to complete the relevant customs documents, e.g., pro forma or commercial invoice. As we do not currently support customs/tax formalities and the associated documentation, you will have to clear your shipments directly. This is also the case if you send shipments exclusively through shipcloud, i.e., if you do not have your own DPD account. Please follow the guidelines provided by DPD and contact the carrier directly if you have any queries.


1 shipcloud provides assistance from Germany for EU-wide shipping of your DPD parcels. With your own DPD account you can also ship outside the EU.

2 shipcloud provides assistance within Germany for your DPD Express shipments. With your own DPD account you can also use this service internationally. Please ask your DPD account manager for more details.

3 Return labels via the return portal are for national return labels only. Return labels as an insert are for national and eu-wide standard shipments for the following countries: Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium.
